The
original 1960's motel sign still marks this single story white brick
motel 3 km (2 mi) south of downtown, but inside, rooms are updated regularly
and outside flowering plants and trees sprawl across the generous, nicely
landscaped grounds with a large pool. Free coffee, tea and muffins await
guests in the morning. One of the best deals in town; friendly
hosts. - www.fodors.com
I
don't know what "motel" means to you, but to me, it normally
sounds like an unprepossessing place to stop that's right by a highway.
Well, the Swan is indeed 3km (2 miles) from downtown Stratford, but its
grounds are completely luxurious. This property has been run by the same
family for more than 40 years, and it has a warm, gracious atmosphere.
The rooms are nonsmoking, and they are simply but pleasantly arranged.
The grounds are the real drawing card, with the romantic Victorian gazebo,
beds of perennial flowers, and outdoor pool. - www.frommers.com
